Eat, Drink & Be Giving (at home)

On of my favorite days of the year is the Saturday before Veteran's Day, when we host our annual dessert-centric celebration & fundraiser. I don't know that we've ever managed to get everyone involved with the world-changing work at Skookum Kids into the same room at the same time. But at Eat, Drink & Be Giving we usually comes pretty close. But for obvious reasons, we will be unable to gather like we usually do this fall.

After working my way through all five stages of grief on this topic, we got to work planning ways to make your couch or kitchen table as festive as possible for a virtual event.

We know that we wanted to bring the gripping true stories of the men & women on the front lines caring for kids and supporting families everyday. And as we worked, a theme began to emerge: reunification.

More now than maybe ever in its history, Skookum Kids is working hard to help parents overcome addiction, address mental illness, and reunify with their children. I hope you'll make plans to join us on October 15 and hear all about it.

We are grateful for our friends at Ciao Thyme and Pure Bliss Desserts who are offering some exquisite meal and dessert kits so that you can skip the dishes. Just pick up your meal on the way home from work, kick up your feet, and enjoy the stories. Hope we see you then!
